Topographical Surveys

All types of Topographical suveys are undertaken using Topcon GPS and the latest one man Topcon Robotic instruments. All details are surveyed and drafted in Cadd using n4Ce software. Any size surveys can be undertaken. Building face surveys, earthwork surveys, asbuilt surveys are also some of the work we do.

Civil Engineering Setting Out

Any type of Sitework Setting Out is undertaken from large earthworks to foundations for multi story buildings, piles, steel alignment, brickwork, drainage, windows, walls, curtain walling etc. Using cad drawings, co ordinates are calculated and checked and loaded into the instruments. With the drawing they can be overlaid with the coordinates and acurate measurements and setting out can be undertaken.

Earthwork Modeling for quantity volumes for design and tenders

Using n4Ce software, 3D models of proposed projects are produced and earthwork volumes are calculated for tenders or redesign changes of levels for cut to fill balances. Grouped areas are used for planning construction methods. Checking onsite earthwork volumes for acurate subcontractor payments or quantity of materials required. X Sections plotted showing design and OGLs.

Hydrographical Surveys

Using GPS and an acurate Echo Sounder all connected to a Topcon Tablet, depths of lakes, rivers and esturies can be surveyed acurately and cross sections produced with n4ce software. These are are all mounted on a Zego Boat, designed and manufactured in New Zealand. This boat can travel in 500mm of water as well as handle rough waters. It is light weight at only 200kgs and can easily be launched in most water ways. X sections 3D models and volumes can then be extracted.

Dave Cowan Civ Eng Land Survey Tech Rics, is a qualified Civil Engineer Land Surveyor with over 30 years of experience in all aspects of Civil Engineering setting out and topographical surveys, earhworks volumes, Hydrgraphical surveys, building survey, piling setting out and cadastral surveys. The company started in 2008 to undertake Topographical surveys and Civil Engineering Setting out projects, and has now completed over 200 contracts. The client base consists of a wide variety of large and small construction companies in the North of England and Scotland, clients being builders, architects, consultants, developers and private individuals.

We offer a service for construction companies where by we can be hired on an hourly basis (with a minimum of 4hrs) and hence therefore we can visit your site only when you require an engineer for setting out. We can visit several sites for a company undertaking all of their engineering works when required. Our rates being similar to agency rates, but include all the survey equipment, GPS licence, insurances, computer with an Engineering package and travelling (no charge within a radius of 20miles from Sunderland). You call us when you need us ! Topograophical surveys are quoted as a set price.

Using the latest Topcon Dsi Video Total Station, Topcon GPS and latest n4Ce Engineering Cad package, acuracy, time saving, and error elimination together with engineering problem solving is of the utmost importance to us.
